Another low turnout of 17 players this week, for the Mike and Cath Sponsored September Monthly Medal. And winning the day by a long way was Steve ' Must have been Robbie Dale's encouragement all round ' McKenna with a nett score of 65. Great round of golf mate, even better when you have to handle having the Patron in your ear when you are having a good day....
Grade winners this week were Frankie ' Getting ready for the Summer Cup ' Balter in A Grade with a nett 72. Brent ' Stranger Danger ' Ranger wins B Grade with a nett 69 , and his offsider Conrad ' Lovin' C Grade ' Peters takes C Grade with a nett 71.
Plate winners this week were Pete ' Dummy Spit ' Rowie for his DQ in A Grade . Try an guess the B Grade Plate winner.... , yep it's ' just a shit golfer out of luck ' Robbo. At least I fought the good fight, and didn't DQ... finishing with a nett 86. Douggie ' Stuff this ' Glover takes it for C Grade for his DQ.
Disappointing to hear the news that Big Jase Whitey may have played his last game with the Club, at least at Belair. Will be a shame not having you around mate, but hopefully we will all get to catch up on away games hey ??
As for team players this week... let's get the amateurs out of the way first. Big Joff , wearing his own sunglasses this week fell short of the ladies on the 2nd. Matty ' Surprised it's not a birdie hole ' Loan 4 putted the 11th. But, surely creating some kind of new record, the over achieving underachiever Robbo not only completed the trifecta of jugs available, but threw in a daily double as well to end up 4 jugs down ... yep 4 !!!! Ladies on the 4th, 4 putt on the 10th, Ladies on the 11th.... and finished it up with an airy on the 18th !!! Crikey, what a day !!! Thanks to the Phantom and Hughesy for driving down and picking up my first shout ......
We managed a small win in lotto, so kitty is growing slightly.... I doubt anyone will want to cash out just yet tho' ....
Another week, another golf bag up for grabs this week boys... With week 1 of the Bridgestone Bag this week fellas.
will catch you blokes on Saturday
Cheers

A slight improvement this week with the numbers , as 19 players turned up for the first round of the Mike Taylor Golf Bag Comp. And leading in the Clubhouse after the first week is el Presidente ' Bach Spin ' Kym Tolius. Feeling that this was as good a time as any to pull up the anchor that has seen him blow out quite a few strokes this year, the Horndale Hobbit leads with his score of 36 points, knocking off the Patron Dale on countback, with quite a few other blokes still in contention the week that round two comes around... Well played Kymbo, guess you won't be joining C Grade just yet tho' mate.
Grade winners this week were Frankie ' Pretty sure that's not in the Hungarian Translation book ' Balter in A Grade with 35 points. Robbie ' Happy Trails ' Dale plays his best round for a while to win B Grade with 36 points, and Doug ' Could've , should've .... wasn't a 3 for 5 on the 9th ' Glover wins C Grade with 35 points.
L Plate winners this week were Matty ' Not an early riser ' Loan, grabbing it in a countback from Ronnie ' Maybe I'll come back when the kitty is higher ' Jaekel in A Grade with 28 points. ' This is becoming way beyond a joke ' Robbo claims yet another plate in B Grade with an all inspiring 17 points, dragging DC - 5 down as well to take the C Grade plate with 19 points...
Team players this week were Kymbo on the 2nd for the ladies, and Sarah ' Derrick ' O 'Connor was obviously distracted by the ants in the top rank ballroom... falling short of the ladies on his drive, and second shot on the 4th.
Graham ' The Bird Whisperer ' Hunt takes the Mitsi shot of the day, for his his birdie shot out there on Saturday.... somehow managing to bring down a magpie in flight apparently... By all accounts, no major damage suffered by the bird or Hunnys' 1988 Precept.
Monthly Medal this week boys.
Will also be taking money for the lotto on Saturday night for anyone that wants in.... make sure you bring an extra $5 boys, and let's see if we can improve on our massive kitty !!!!
Will see you blokes on Saturday
Cheers

Crikey...
Decent weather outlook ? - Check
Major Comp ? - Check
Ummm, so where the hell was everyone ?? Even with 3 blokes o/seas , 2 nomads wandering aimlessly through the outback trying to find their inner Leyland Brother, it was still surprising to only have 14 blokes turn up on Saturday for the Past Players Memorial Trophy. At least it was enough for a comp, and continuing on his great streak of form, this weeks winner was Dave ' I don't need to declare my winnings, do I ? ' Kempie. The short arse blitzed the field with 37 points. Well done Kempie, well played... Now we really do need to rip into ya on the 1st !!!
Grade winners this week were Steve ' In No Hurry ' Belcher in A Grade with 34 points. Stevie ' I just can't stop him ' McKenna wins B Grade with 32 points, and Phil 'I'll stick around for a drink if no one else will Robbo ' Edwards takes C Grade with 34 points.
Plate winners were Pete ' Must be why Kempie gave me these shoes ' Rowie in A Grade with 27 points. ' That's more like it , ya dickhead ' Robbo takes it for B Grade with 22 points, and Paul ' Where's Kenny ? ' Hughes grabs the C Grade plate with 25 points.
No team players on Saturday... or maybe there was , but when I got back to do the cards , pretty much everyone bar Frankie n Phil had taken off....
Will be a shame if the story going around the Club on Saturday is true.... But apparently , Billy ' Everyone's favourite player to hang shit on... but with love ' Bollard has made a run for it and joined the Pat !!! Shame Billy , hope to see you some Saturdays.... You quickly became a much loved member of this Club , and will be a shame to see you go.... Who am I gonna put the voodoo on now mate ???
And then came Sunday... Victor Harbour. Talk about deja vu
Bargain Price ? - Check
Decent weather outlook ? - Check
Away game / Great course / No mud - Check
Again, where the hell was everyone ?? Another 14 players on the Sunday, tho' not all the same players. But same results really... Kempie wins the day with 39 points, '2 jug ' Robbo is useless sober / hungover / pissed or with a golf club in his hand really, winning the NAGA with 21 points.... Those results better make it to golflink Matty !!! Great to have the Ladies , Penny and Cherie , out for a hit.... sux when they outscore you but !!!!
See you blokes on Saturday
Cheers

Due to course conditions, this years program went through another late change on Saturday. With the course so wet, unfortunately Champ was unable to take a cart out, so with a quick change, the 19 players that turned up in the mist on Saturday battled it out for the Presidents Trophy. And in the end, no-one was happier than the practice round King, Dave ' Can we get a move on ' Kemp, winning the trophy with 38 points. Well played Kempie, you have your trophy for the year.... so maybe practice left handed for the rest of the season. Well done mate....
Grade winners were Frankie ' Don't wanna buy in for lotto ' Balter in A Grade with 35 points. ' Are you serious ' Robbo somehow wins B Grade on a countback from Stevie McK... oh that explains it, it was only 32 points !!! C Grade goes to Douggie ' Skid Stains ' Glover with a more impressive 36 points, and half the course attatched to his arse after taking a slide in the mud.
L Plate winners were Tommy ' Wanna buy a pergola ? ' Dougan in A Grade with 32 points, ' Robbo will save me... oh shit ! ' Hunny takes it in B Grade with 25 points, and ' When's Billy back ? ' DC holds on to the C Grade plate with 23 points.
Only the one team player this week, and for good measure, went double up with Douggie ' Might need a short term loan to cover this ' Glover failing to make the ladies twice on the 15th... Hell, even his 3rd shot was still on the tee block apparently. Not a good day really for the master of a sneaky win whenever he comes out for a hit.
A few contenders for the Mitsi shot of the day... Sarah O' Connor for his monster putt on the 15th, that ended up only 2 " past the hole. Unfortunately for 'Derrick ', he totally misread the line of the the putt.... Not easy really when it was only a 1" putt to start with !!!! Or there was Hunny taking a 3 wood on the 17th, looking to launch his second shot, only to drive it straight down into the mud off the club !! But this weeks winner was Kymbo for his second shot on the 14th... " Think that may be out Kymbo " only for a bloke driving down Upper Sturt to make a u - turn and pull up to let Kymbo know where abouts on the other side of the road it was....
As usual, the silent group of the day was definately the grouping of Kymbo, Robbo, Matty and this week Sarah. It would have been easy to forget that we were even still out on the course, except the tee master was waiting for our cards to tally up the round.... So I think it was a bit harsh for the President of Grange to lodge a complaint about keeping the noise down !!!
Double header this weekend boys, with Victor on Sunday. Hopefully, more blokes have decided to make it.
Still keep Ashbourne in mind as well for numbers boys... And speaking of numbers, the tickets have been bought for tonight ( Tuesday )... let's hope they are more fruitful than our previous efforts.
Cheers boys
See yas on the weekend

After the previous weeks washout, was good to see 24 players rock up in good conditions to try and claim the Billy Bollard / GIO trophy. And first week in after getting his handicap, this weeks winner was Brenton ' The Lone ' Ranger with 38 points. Like all good new members, Brent made use of his over the odds handicap and already has something to collect on trophy night. Well played mate.
Grade winners were Tommy ' Call the waaaaaambulance ' Dougan, playing one handed in A Grade with 37 points, after ' Tick , tick .. BOOM ' Bryant managed to smack a ball into Buzz on the funny bone whilst playing. In Tommy's defence, he probably waited a couple of minutes after the first practice swing, saw a vapor cloud engulf the Captain, and thought he was good to go !! B Grade goes to Dave ' I love it when you blokes are distracted when I'm on the first ' Kemp with 36 points, and Conrad ' I want a higher handicap ' Peters plays his first stableford round to win C Grade with 31 points.
L Plates this week go to Ben ' Almost a Dad ' Dale in A Grade with 18 points, ' You are shit ' Robbo in B Grade with 20 points and 'At least I'm in good company ' DC - 5 wins it in C Grade with 20 points.
Unfortunately, the birdie hole went off this week, with Ronnie ' Sniper ' Jaekel turning up for one of his rare guest appearances and taking the birdie on the 1st. Probably just as well really, after he created dramas on the tee block by knocking Holly flying into the mud, and making Fi run off and buy new clothes for her.... Only joking Ronnie, I believe you when you say she just fell over !! Either way, the $120 + has been drastically reduced mate.
No team players reported this week.
Bon Voyage to Klaus , gone for 5 weeks , and Super, gone for 7 weeks as they head off overseas.
Don't forget Kymbo really needs names for Victor, Echunga and Ashbourne. Clarkey now taking names and a $10 non refundable deposit for Ashbourne.
Have a good week boys
Cheers

Well when you walk up the path to the putting green and observe that the putting green is underwater, you leave your clubs in the car. Yes it was a washout. No official golf for the clubs, but for a few "loony toones" that had to have their fix of weekly golf. Yes we have some crazies that play with MSGC. I wont name them, yes I will, Frankie "the silly ethnic" Balter, Paul and Steve "the mad Pommy bastards" Mckenna. I think Rowie was out there too. Guys, you need help!
Apparently, Super went home to the Village and went into the laundry and turned the hot water tap on, made a cup of tea and forgot about the stream of water pouring out of the laundry. Enough water to have a Canoeing contest down the rapids of the main street of Supers Village.
Forget about playing golf on a crap day just have a putting comp in the drizzling rain. Over a few ports the rules were made up and away we went. Six boys playing for $30(less work for a normal Saturday). Some big putts dropped by Joffa and Kempy with Kempy eventually winning the Putting comp. Your buy Kempy! But wait there's more, lets not stop at a putting comp lets's have a chipping comp. Another five dollars and lets chip. A massive chip by the Pres, in. No cigar though, due to rules he was the closest, Bulmers the eventual Winner.
Our thoughts go out to James Daley, recovering in hospital after a Seven hour long operation to put things wright again. Ken has all the details for James.
That's about it for the washout weekend, see you all this Saturday. |

On a cold and breezy morning, we had 20 players show up on Saturday , including Katherine Hann as a rep for the days sponsor , Alan Donald Financial Services. Winning the day , on a score of 39 points , was Steve ' That will help cover the excess ' Belcher. Young Belch will claim his prize on trophy night... Well played mate , good stuff.
Grade winners this week were Mick ' What Bunker ? ' Taylor in A Grade with 33 points, Kymbo ' This should keep me away from C Grade ' Tolius takes B Grade with his 37 points. Dave ' I wanna play with Joff again ' Clarke wins C Grade with 33 points.
Plate winners this week were Chris ' Not so special ' Kay in A Grade with 26 points. Dave ' Still only a practice ' Kemp does his best to win the B Grade plate in a 4 way countback with 30 points, and Super ' Ladies man ' Mann claims the C Grade plate with 24 points.
Apparently, only one bloke out there on Saturday was kind enough to consider his fellow group partners, and that would be Robbo. Ever the team player, I had to cough up the cash for a round after hitting the trees and falling short of the ladies on the 4th.
The Mitsi Shot Of The Day goes to The Champ for his chip in over the bunker on the 9th hole for birdie. By all accounts, it was a great shot that sailed up, over the bunker and straight into the hole on the fly... The cheers from his playing group could be heard from a few holes away.
Poor ol' Klaus had a tough day of it on Saturday, playing with Super, Penny and Katherine. Spending the day minding his P's & Q's would have been tough on a loveable lad like the Great Dane, but getting out driven on the 15th by Katherine after hitting what he thought was a good drive must have had him near boiling point... ecspecially as he had to do the walk of shame back from the furthest ball. And to top it off, he walked off the 18th with leaking eyeballs after not stopping to water the trees on his way around due to the ladies being in his group !!! Tough day at the office ....
Don't forget to think about Ashbourne and also the next away game at Victor.
Enjoy the August Monthly Medal Round boys, I'm off to Shitney for the weekend, so I'll catch you all in 2 weeks.
Cheers

Another chilly start to a Saturday saw 24 players turn out to try and win the Joff Gould sponsored day. A good turnout following previous weeks and a much drier than expected course, saw Klaus ' Couldn't stay away 'til August ' Ebdrup win the prize with a score of 38 points. Well played Klaus, your time away from the game obviously didn't affect it.
Grade winners were Pete ' Could someone try and talk Kempie back into the Chicken round ' Rowe with 37 points, on a countback from Frankie, in A Grade. Stevie ' I don't like the cold ' McKenna wins B Grade with 33 points, and Paul ' The Phantoms attack dog is off the leash ' Hughes wins C Grade with 36 points.
Plate winners this week were Chris ' Counting down the days ' Kay in A Grade with 24 points. B Grade goes to ' Sober Fridays are overrated ' Robbo with 22 points, and Billy ' But what about Penny ? ' Bollard wins it for C Grade with 19 points.
This weeks Ladies Comp winner was Penny. This weeks ladies comp L Plate winner is ..... Penny. Good to see her still getting out there and having a go. Although if Kymbo and myself don't start improving soon, we may start teeing off the reds with you Penny, so you may have some competition soon.... for the L Plate !!!!
This weeks team players were Kymbo on the 2nd for falling short of the ladies, and Conrad on the 10th with a 4 putt. Well played Hunny for getting in Conrads ear about the "Birdie or a jug, your choice " call after his tee shot landed on...Conrad and Brent are our 2 newest members, still awaiting there handicaps... and nicknames !!! Don't be afraid to give them one and see if it sticks...
Sorry the news has been offline for a few weeks boys, but that was because no one gave me any to report. Don't really have the time or desire to just sit in front of a computer and dribble mindless crap if it is not related to the members. So just try and remember to get any info back to me, either directly / text / Facebook message or just stick a note in the cupboard door if I'm teemaster.
Don't forget the remainder of the 2015 calender has been updated and posted on the cupboard, with alot of major trophy / major sponsor events coming up. The first of which will be this week, with BBQ after the game, so stick around if you can.
Don't forget to think about Ashbourne on November 22 either. The Club is going to be providing drinks and food this year, so we definately need numbers to support the day. DC - 5 will be spending some time chatting with everyone over the next couple of weeks taking down names and collecting a non refundable $10 deposit, so we can start preparing for the day.
Good luck to us on Thursday with Powerball...
See you blokes on Saturday
Cheers

With the the long weekend, it was not surprising that numbers were down last week for the June Monthly Medal, sponsored by Mike and Cathy Smith. Luckily enough, there was 15 starters to more than qualify a comp, but apparently only one bloke actually bothered to play. Easily winning the day and the medal, was Tommy ' Stalignite Snotboy ' Dougan with a nett 63. Well played Buzz, lucky for you your main competition were all in Waikerie for the weekend.
Grade winners this week were Frankie ' Grass Cutter ' Balter in A Grade with a nett 73. Stevie ' Little c ' McKenna wins B Grade with a nett 76, and Phil ' Back home in C Grade ' Edwards claims the ball with a nett72.
Plate winners this week were Chris ' Wish my horse was running so I didn't have to be here ' Kay in A Grade with 76. Joffa ' Maybe I should've waited 'til after my shot before laughing ' Gould wins the plate in B Grade with a nett 89 , and Paul ' This will work as a handbrake ' Hughes takes it in C Grade with a nett 79.
There were 2 team players this week, for 3 jugs !! Poor ol' Sarah O' Çonnor fell 3 ft short of the ladies on the 3rd, much to the delight of his playing group.... Mostly Joffa, who was pissing himself laughing and calling JUGGGGG. And that's the funny thing about golf karma, as he calmed himself for his drive on the same hole, poor bloke ended up 20ft short of the ladies. And from all accounts, he sure knew how happy everyone else in the group was. Poor Pete then managed to 4 putt the 4th from within 10 ft , to become Geoff and Jackies best mate for the day as he coughed up for two rounds after the round.
As for Belch, Robbie D , Kymbo and myself ... We spent the weekend at the Waikerie Open. And bloody hell , what a nightmare that course is if you stray off the fairways !! Although Belch played ok, the other three of us managed to fit in 3 rounds of golf into a 36 hole comp !!! Champ , you can have your spot back anytime mate.
Thanks to Hunny for supplying the goss this week.
Look forward to catching up with you blokes on the weekend
Cheers

With no news last week due to the Mitsi In Mildura trip, we'll start off this weeks news with the results from the Mitsubishi Trophy. Winning the two week comp, sponsored by CEVA , is none other than Big ' Croc Bait ' Kev , taking the prize with a second round 35 points. Kev managed to hold back the chokers and do just enough to win with atwo round score of 73 points. Well played Kev.
Now to this week , and the Final of the Bryant Classic Matchplay between ' Bach spin ' Kym and ' At least I never wore it ' Hunny. In a close game , that luckily needed no help from the referee , Kymbo came out the victor, winning 3 & 2. Great game to witness , with the boys sharing laughs all the way round and enjoying the moment. Well played Mr T, and bad luck Hunny.
Now for the rest of us , it was another stableford round. And winning the day was ' Why couldn't I play like that in Mildura ' Robbo winning the day with 42 points.
Grade winners were ' Mr Mildura ' Bryant in A Grade with 36 points. Joff ' I wanna go ' Gould wins B Grade with 35 points , and Paul ' Not quite Queensland ' Hughes wins C Grade with 38 points.
Winning the ladies comp was Penny ' But I'm the only one ' Pearce with 26 points.
Plate winners this week were Steve ' Helicopter pilot in training ' Belcher in A Grade, on a countback from Chris ' Special ' Kay. B Grade goes to Phil ' The Bangladeshi driver needs a tune up ' Edwards with 21 points, and Dave ' But I beat Penny ! ' Clarke wins it for C Grade with 27 points.
As usual , what happens in Mildura stays in Mildura , unless it goes on Facebook. But I can say that the week was won by Bulmers after a great last day , and was another great week planned by the President. Great stuff Kymbo , look forward to doing it again in May 2016.
Not sure if Paulie Mac has changed from helicopters to boomerangs , but two weeks ago he nearly severed the head off Rowie after hurling his iron down the fairway after a shank... if it wasn't for the boys yelling for Pete to duck , by all accounts it would not have ended pretty.
As you are aware , Big Kev and Jarrod have set off for a 4 month outback adventure... Not sure which one will be Russell Coight tho' . Big Kev has set up a travel blog for anyone interested in following their trip. The address is - bigkevrowland.wordpress.com - if you want to keep up to date.
Monthly Medal this week boys , with the long weekend and a few away , it may be a great chance to snag a medal...
Good luck, see ya's in a couple of weeks
Cheers
