Darren Robertson wins the Henry Pitcher Trophy in Tricky Conditions
Monday, 12 April 2010 21:33

Darren not only fought off all comers on Saturday, Darren had to do battle with all those temporary greens and come in with a high score of 43 points to win the Henry Pitcher Trophy.

The competition was fierce with three members finishing with 41 points and a handful of members on 40 points.

The temporary greens were intersting to say the least, I personally had a Shane Warne Wrongun to score a three on the ninth. There were probably other stories like that on Saturday.

Ron Marshall had it tough on Saturday, not only did he score twenty points for the day and win the L Plate but Golflink took three strokes of his handicap. In B Grade Chris Kay wins the L Plate and in C Grade Steve Cunningham wins the L Plate by two.

Ray Saxby wins A Grade, Graham Hunt wins B Grade, and Justin Pitcher wins C Grade.

There were no NTP on the Seventh (funny that) but Dave Kemp won NTP on the 13th.

Matchplay Conditions. Matches
Thursday, 08 April 2010 11:23
All Matchplay Matches must be played on or before the due date,  (in this first round match, it is the 17th of April). In the Raynor Cup Matchplay, Members can arrange a time that is compatable with both players. For example; the matchplay can be played on a week day.
If the two players cannot find a referee (preferred), the members can referee their own match.
If there is a discrepancy between the two members, the suggestion is that the person in question plays two balls, play the hole out and refer the matter to the Match Committee.
All Referees must make a decission. Any person that takes on the position as referee must be prepared to make a decission on the incident at hand. If one member is not happy with the decission, once again, the person in question will play two balls, finish the hole out and refer the matter to the Match Committee.
Matchplay Matches
1 v 8
Zac Kingston v Phil Edwards
2 v 7
Tom Dougan v Darren Robertson
3 v 6
Kym Tolius v Frankie Balter
4 v 5
Steve Belcher v Tony Bryant

The Ol Dog gets his 150th Monthly Medal/Tee off Times for the Henry Pitcher Trophy this Saturday
Wednesday, 07 April 2010 11:10
Frankie Balter does it again. Frankie wins we think, his 150th Monthly Medal. The Match Committee is still yet to decide on wether the motorised cart he was using on Saturday is classed as outside assistance. Frankie had a great round on Saturday shooting 78 off the stick coming in with a net 63.
Coming in a close second was Mike Taylor shooting a net 64, 80 off the stick.
I see Wazza is still on the yoyo coming last in C grade and winning the L Plate for C Grade. Peter Rowe is still lerking in the Cellar with the L Plate in A Grade and winning the Chicken Award. B Grade L Plate was won by Wayne Steel.
Winner of A Grade Was Tony Bryant with a net 65, winner of B Grade also with a net 65 was Mark Squire and the winner of C Grade with a net 68 was Riley Marshall.
All in all it was a good attendance on Saturday with some old Familiar faces we haven't seen in a while and some new faces to the Club.
Daylight Saving has finished, therefore the hit off times will change. Belair will be finishing around 8.45 am this Saturday, every member wishing to play this Saturday could you arrive to the Course by 8.15am please.
This Saturday is sponsored by Henry Pitcher, Henry Pitcher is Jack Pitcher's Father and Justin Pitcher,s Grandfather. Henry Pitcher worked at Chrysler for 41 years, this puts Henry in his 90's, 99 as a matter a fact. Henry likes to have a chat, could all members make themselves known to Henry and say hello.

Warren Atkins and the YoYo Effect!/Monthly Medal Hit Off Time Sponsored by Ron Marshall Hooked on Golf
Wednesday, 31 March 2010 13:33

One day Wazza is down and one day Wazza is up, this is commonly known as the YoYo effect.

Wazza who had a great score of 45 points beat a quality field . The field included Ray Saxby, Chris Kay,Graham Mann and Tom Dougan. All were in  striking distance but were just not good enough on the day.

The scores on Saturday were again in the low to mid 40's, if you were not in the 40's you just didn't have a chance.

I would personally like to thank Peter Rowe for havin a crap day to. Pete it was only a little more crap than me, but I'm happy for that because you took that great L Plate off of me in A Grade.

In B Grade Graham Hunt won the L Plate and in C Grade, well I just dont know there are about 5 that finished on 34 points so they have to fight amongst themselves for the L Plate.

A Grade Winner for the 27th is Ray Saxby, B Grade Winner is Chris Kay and C Grade winner is Graham Mann.

Nearest the Pin on the 7th was Tony Bryant and on the 13th was Steve Laird.

Nothing seems to hold this man down. Lindsay Jones, having a serious injury on his leg and told it would probably be three months before he could play golf, is know back on the course (in those pants) hitting golf balls. Good onya Lindsay.

Hit Off time for the Monthly Medal is between 9.00am and 9.15am. Could every member wishing to play this Saturday the 3rd. of April arrive by 8.45am, thankyou.

67 Off The Stick, Not Good Enough/Tee Times for the 380 Trophy
Wednesday, 24 March 2010 13:12
Yes that is wright, 67 off the stick, 3 under the card shot by Tom Dougan was just not quite enoough to get over the line. Zac Kingston shot a 75 off the stick and won on a countback from Tom. If you didn't have a round in the 70's or 60's you were not going to be in the mix, I should know I shot 78 and was nowhere near it. The general trend of scores was in the nett 60's. That is good golf by all concerned.
Tom will have to settle for a golf ball for winner of A Grade. Still that is better from last week running last and winning that L Plate. Steve Mckenna wins the L Plate in B Grade with a nett 70 and Big Kev wins the L Plate in C Grade.
Kym Tolius wins B Grade and Darren Robertson wins C Grade. Nearest the Pins on the 2nd was Ray Saxby, and on the 13th was Graham Mann.
Tom has a new Benchmark in A Grade for lowest off the stick in 67.
Kym Tolius is starting to show some old form shooting an 82 off the stick, Kym may have been thinking of calling out the Firebrigade again, but Kym the Fire guys were already there puttin out Tom and Zac's efforts because the course was ablaze when those 2 guy's went through.
Tee Times for Saturday the 27th of March will be between 9.00 and 9.15am . This Saturday the Trophy is the 380 Trophy Sponsored by Ron Jaekel. All Members competing on Saturday, could they all arrive by 8.45am thankyou.

Jack Pitcher Tares Up The course!Hit off Times for Saturday the 20th Election Day
Tuesday, 16 March 2010 14:17
We don't see Jack for a couple of weeks, but when we do, he just rips up the course! Jack smoked up the course with a nett 46 Stableford points. Some say, we need to check his urine to see what he's on. I'm sure Jack is clean and just had a cracker of a game.
Ray Saxby also smoked up the course with 75 off the stick and was the leader in the clubhouse for a while. The 75 Ray just wasn't quite good enough to get over the line.
Scores have been very competative with most members finishing above 30 Points. Even if you have had 32 points you are not guaranteed of not winning the L Plates. Just ask Steve Belcher, last week Steve won the L Plate with a nett 69 and Tom wins the L Plate with 32 Points.
Peter Rowe takes the Nearest the Pin on the 7th and Steve Belcher wins the closest to the Pin on the 16th.
Ray Saxby wins A Grade on 44 Points , Kym Tolius wins B Grade with 40 Points and Darren Robertson wins C Grade with 42 Points.
Tom Dougan wins the L Plate with an 80 off the stick in A Grade, Mat Loan wins the L Plate in B Grade and a few of them won the L Plate in C Grade.
The Hit Off Times for this week will be between 9.00am and 9.20am. The times are later due to daylight saving , when daylight saving finishes the Tee Times will again start a little earlier.
DON"T FORGET TO VOTE!

A Fiery Start to the Season Opener/Hit Off Times for Saturday the 13th of March
Wednesday, 10 March 2010 09:05
The Season opener was smokin. Scores of nett 60,63 and 64 was just some of the high standard of golf that was played on Saturday. Dave Kemp beat the field by 3 strokes on Saturday, his nearest competitors were Mark Squire, Riley Marshall and Warren Atkins all shooting a nett 63.
Tom Dougan is back to his old self shooting 71 off the Stick. Not good enough for the day though, Dave Kemp put daylight between himself and the field on handicap with a round of 76 off the Stick. Well done Dave, and by the way, Welcome back to A Grade.
Tom Dougan has the lowest off the stick in A Grade with 71, Dave Kemp has Best off the stick in B Grade with 76 and Steve Laird has Best off the Stick in C Grade with 84.
Longest Drive in A grade was won by Conrad Conway, B Grade was won by Robby Dale and in C Grade Wazza took the honors.
Nearest the Pin on the second was won by Kym Tolius and Tony Bryant took out nearest the pin on the tenth.
One of the most sort after trophies in all grades the "L" Plate was won on Countbacks in two of the grades. Steve Belcher won on a countback from Ray Saxby, Phil Salvemini won on a countback from S Laird and Colin Shaw won the L plate on his own in C Grade. Well done Boys.
Overall it was a great turnout for the first round of the Winter Season with 30 Members turning out to play.
It was also good to see Lindsay Jones out in good spirits, although we miss those John Daley pants!
For those that do not know my Father, Ross Bryant. Ross was a keen member of the Chrysler/Mitsubishi Golf Club, a Former Club Champion in 1971 and comittee member for a number of years. Ross turned 80 last week and Dad would like to thank all those members that signed his birthday card from the club. My Father and myself would like to take the opportunity to thank Geoff and Jackie, Amie and Daniel for making the night a wonderful succsess.
Hit off for Saturday the 13th of March will be between 9.00am and 9.15am. Every member that would like to participate in the Presidents Trophy, could they arrive by 8.45am please.

The Summer Cup (Major Sponsor Lindsay Jones) Offically Comes to an End/Ambrose Winners
Monday, 01 March 2010 12:21
Last Saturday offically marks the end of the Summer Season and next Saturday we welcome in the new Winter Season for the Golf Club on March the 6th.
The Ambrose day was a good day had by all. The winners Peter Rowe, Mark Squire, Steve Mckenna and Steve Cunningham shot a 62 off the Stick. Ten Pars and Eight Birdies. Great golf Boys, if only we could play by ourselves like that.
Bad news came to the club during the week. The ever bubbly character Lindsay Jones had a shocking accident at work. Lindsay had his quad muscles ripped oof the bone. Lindsay has played a big roll in the sponsorship of the Summer Cup this year donating an amazing prize for two to the Mckracken golf resort. Speaking to Lindsay he is a bit sore at the moment as you can imagine. The accident would have been quite a traumatic accident at the time and Lindsay is feeling a little down at the moment. if any Club Member has a spare moment I'm sure Lindsay would love to hear from you to help lift his spirits up. Lindsay's phone number is 0400010095.
As Club Captain I would like to thak all the Sponsors of the Summer Cup, Ron Marshall Hooked on Golf, Kym Tolius, Ron Jaekel,Steve Laird Steve Mckenna,Gerry Laird Phil Edwards, Peter Rowe, Steve Belcher and Lindsay Jones. Without weekly sponsors the Summer Cup just wouldn't be a feasible competition. Once again to the Major Sponsor Lindsay Jones who put up over a thousand dollars in prize money to the club to make the Summer Cup a very special event this Summer.
From bad news to some good news during the week, Jack Pitcher rnag myself to inform the club that his son Justin Pitcher and his wife Renae have become proud parents of a baby boy Hayden Pitcher. So that means Jack your a Grand Dad. All reports are that Mum and Baby Hayden are all doing fine.

The New El Presidenta Wins, And Wins Well! /Hitt Off Times for the Ian Walton Memorial Ambrose Trophy
Tuesday, 23 February 2010 11:33
Kym Tolius lerks quietly in the background just waiting to pounce. Well pounce he did, Kym shot 45 points to win the SMS Phnuematics Trophy. Just as the incoming President shoots the lights out so does the outgoing President. Ron Jaekel came back into some form with 44 points (78 off the stick) to take second spot.
It was the last round of the Summer Cup 09/10. Graham Hunt was in Newcastle NSW sitting on 286 points. Graham had just played the required 7 games to achieve that score. Everyone else had the luxury of dropping their worst round to achieve maximum points. Sadly for Graham, the Club Captain shot 41 points on Saturday and won the overall Summer Cup Competition for the Club with 288 Points.
It was a good turn out for the final round of the Summer Cup. Thirty members took on the 37 degrees plus heat and enjoyed a BBQ at the end of the round, and to all reports enjoyed the day.
The L Plate for A grade goes to David Kemp winning on a countback from Steve Belcher. (Thats one Trophy that Steve is happy to loose). The L Plate in B Grade goes to Steve Mckenna because we will give Mat Loan 1 Weeks grace. Next week, 'Mat,' you are in with a chance to win that fine Trophy. The C Grade L Plate goes to Gerry Laird.
This week is the "Own Teams Ambrose". If you haven't organised your own Team, do not despair their will be a few straglers around next week to fill up  the spots.
This Week is the Ian Walton Memorial Trophy. For those members that do not know Ian, Ian was a hard woking member for the club many years ago. Ian has passed on now and we remember Ian with this Trophy.
The Hit off times this week will be between 8.30 and 9.00 am. Can we have all memebers that are wanting to play to be at the Golf Course by 8.30am please.
