Hi everyone this is yr President speaking, NO don't hit delete just yet. I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas and new year, it has been a while since a news letter as been forwarded, so it is my intention to deliver a news letter on a regular basis. I wish to thank Robbo and Tony for providing us with very entertaining news letters over past years, a very hard act to follow that's for sure.
The summer cup competition is well underway and the stableford scores have been consistently high by most members, with last Saturday been no exception with several scores in the 40's and high 30's. Sitting in the club house on 40 points was Manny who just beat RD on a count back and feeling very confident the day was his, until the last two groups came in. I was fortunate enough to play consistently for 18 holes winning the day scoring 42 points to just hold off a very fast finishing Robbo who had 7 pars on the back nine ( great golf mate) to finish runner up on 41 points, then came Manny well done.
Our very own Captain Bulmers purchased a new family member, a Scott Cameron putter, now they must be good or the shop owner saw him coming at a price tag of $560.00, but wait with strong negotiating skills Bulmers managed to knock it down to $495.00 BARGAIN !!! so armed and dangerous with his super putter he went out played and used it for the first time. Latest reports are it's on EBAY now and the bid is sitting on $1.00, it may double over time Tony !!
We all experience an element of luck when playing a round of golf, hit a ball well into the tree line only to magically see it fly out and land on the fairway, Sarah O'Connor must have had his magic hat, cape and wand with him as reliable sources tell me he went into the trees on many occasions and managed to play each shot from the fairway,( truly kissed on the dick by a fairy Sarah).
Congratulations Joffa your horse ran in second, it must have been a day of seconds for you coming runner up in "B" grade well done.
The club had it's photo opportunity and it was great to see 30 plus members out to get snapped, thankyou Tony for organising it .
