Week nine of the summer cup done and dusted with another great turn out and big scores. A few players thrived in relatively warm conditions posting some great scores, the winner on the day was Steve McKenna with a very impressive 43 points, scoring 27 points and 37 off the stick on the back nine alone, that is an awesome back nine Steve. With an equally impressive round of 43 points only to be done on a count back and in second place was Jeff ( Joffa ) Gould, well done, no cigar but maybe next week, running third place was the ever consistent Steve Belcher with 40 points.
With most things in life if you want to improve on something you have to work harder or study harder to get higher grades, well i have been part of this club for more years than i can remember and have only known this particular golfer to be rated in the top 3 "A" grade player for the club, until the end of Saturdays round when the golfing gods ( golf link) handed down its verdict on one Tony "Captain Bulmers" Bryant and said, son welcome to "B" grade, i am thinking Tony will be studying hard to get back where he belongs, well i certainly hope so it's tough enough in "B" grade already.
"On course gossip" 1. Tom (the Buzz) Dougan was flying high on Saturday taking out the birdie hole money again and also having an eagle on the 6th well done Tom, even though you were being a macho dickhead suggesting the 2nd shot onto the green was shit,saying the ball should have been much closer to the hole, you eagle'd it any way, wanker.
2. Steve Belcher takes a page out of Paul McKenna book and goes the club helicopter, you had 40 points how bad could it have been.
3. Liz managed to quench RD's and the Champs thirst after 4 putting 2 greens, bad luck Liz.
4. Tony attempts to put DC5's glasses and mobile phone on "buy, swap or sell" web site, nice try Tony but DC5 was switched on for a change !!
5. Sources tell me that Super manny just had a shit day out, that accounts for the naga result i guess, we all have them.
Reminders: a. Presentation dinner money is due now $50 per head ( before the 11th Feb please )
b. AGM is on Saturday 25th Feb 7.15am sharp breakfast supplied
c. First away game is at McCracken golf club on Sunday 26th 9.15am putting comp and 10am tee off
