The 2017 AGM was held on Saturday 25th and a pleasing turn out for a 7am start. 2016 was another successful year for the club, seeing our membership increase yet again, all events were well supported and we saw our 1st official ladies championship shield handed out to Penny Pearce. Well done to Penny and all the other major trophy winner. As the old committee stood down and the new one sworn in, there weren't to many surprises with the exception of two new committee members Penny and Liz, having females on board can only be a good thing, i am looking forward to working with them and the rest of the committee throughout 2017 ensuring another successful ahead. I big thank you to Geoff and Jackie for putting on a great breakfast for all of us.
Well the 2016/17 Summer cup season had it's final week and the trend of big scores continued, this time it was Graham Super Mann showing a clean set of heals to the rest of the field coming in with a fantastic score of 44pts to win the day, well done Manny, i heard it has been a long time between drinks. runners up to Manny were Tom the buzz dougan and whitey both on 42pts. the overall winners of the summer cup will most likely be announced on the tee block Saturday, i will not be there but congratulations to all the grade winners and to the overall winner, it was a tough field this year.
The away game competition kicked off last Sunday at McCracken golf club under bright blue skys, the field was a little smaller than usual but still a very competitive group. the day starts with a putting comp just to get the limbs warmed up and the lucky winners were Kymbo and Peter Sanders taking $20 each ( payed of the cart yeah!!). After loosing his ball on the first Big Kev came in with great score of 42pts winning the day well done big Kev ( burglar) coming in with a very respectful 40pts to take out 2nd spot was the one armed bandit Graham (hunny) Hunt and in 3rd place was Colin (CP) Priest with a very nice 39pts. Taking out the NAGA was Liz with 27pts, still a good score to be getting the NAGA. I would like to thank Paul Murray for once again sponsoring the away game competition.
